The world-renowned Aggressor fleet is represented in some of the world's best dive destinations and Cocos is no exception, with the 36m long Okeanos Aggressor II running 10 night trips around this Pacific gem.
Restored in 2010, this steel mono-hulled motor yacht accommodates up to 22 divers in 11 cabins all of which are air-conditioned and feature private en-suite bathrooms. The upper deck suites are quite spacious, with large seaview windows and individual-controlled air-conditioning.
Guests normally dive 3 or 4 times a day and nitrox is available. All divers are issued with personal satellite tracking devices to help minimize the risk of lost personnel at this remote spot. Photographers will appreciate the charging stations, camera table and camera rinse tank on the dive deck. The saloon also features computers which can be used to review your latest images. Memories of diving on this Cocos liveaboard, whether recorded or not, will stay with you forever since it is a truly unique destination.
To help pass the time during the crossings, you can enjoy the entertainment facilities in the air-conditioned saloon including a TV with DVDs, games and a library including general reading as well as marine-related books. You will also enjoy chef-prepared meals on Okeanos Aggressor II, with your days dining starting with breakfast cooked to order.
All drinks are complimentary on this diving cruise. Cocos Island may be a challenge to get to but you will not want for comfort when there are little touches like bathrobes, toiletries and hair-dryers, allowing you to complement awesome scuba experiences with a little bit of pampering.

Day 1
Pick up time from your hotel in San Jose varies as the boat departure from Puntarenas is planned according to the tides. A stunning view of the lush country side is a bonus during your 2 hour journey to the boat. You will be greeted by the Okeanos Aggressor crew and escorted on board. Enjoy some refreshments and the boat briefing, while the liveaboard starts its long trip (approx. 36 hours) to Cocos Island.
Days 2-10
The seas around the remote Cocos Island are teeming with big marine life. The main attraction is of course the huge groups of scalloped hammerhead sharks, some numbering in their hundreds! But there are plenty of other shark species too -whitetip reef sharks, whale sharks, Galapagos, tiger, silky, blacktip, silvertip and guitar sharks. There are also many species of rays: mobula, marble, manta and eagle rays visiting cleaning stations, and big schools of Pacific fish, such as creolefish.
On most days you will wake up and enjoy a continental breakfast at 07:00 hrs followed by the 1st dive of your safari at 08:00 hrs. Be ready for a week of encounters with a huge volume of fish: from hunting jacks and trevallies to silvertips and hammerhead sharks. A full breakfast is served before the 2nd dive of the morning. There is always a dive briefing before the dives to introduce the underwater topography and the marine life you are about to see at each dive site.
Buffet style lunch is usually at 12:00 hrs and the food served is varied and plentiful, with a variety of American-style dishes, barbecues and a bit of local cuisine. You might not want to miss the 3rd dive of the trip at 14:00 hrs as there are always chances to see whale sharks in these waters, most often from June until the end of September. Afternoon snacks and relaxation time are all yours in the afternoon. Dinner is then at 18:00 hrs. There is no night diving in Cocos Island for safety reasons - it is when the tiger sharks are more likely to be in hunting mode.
Days 2 and 10 do not include a full day of diving due to the late arrival at/early departure from Cocos Island.
Day 11
The Okeanos Aggressor returns to the dock in Puntarenas and check-out after an early light breakfast. You will be transferred either to your hotel or to the San Jose Airport.
