Day 1
The Sea Serpent Glory uses the departure port of Hurghada. You will be met on arrival at Hurghada airport, be given assistance with visa on arrival procedures, and then transferred by air-conditioned minivan to Hurghada. The transfer takes around 20 minutes. Upon embarkation you will be welcomed on board and given a boat and cruise briefing. After being assigned, and settling into, your cabin you can get to know your fellow divers over the first night’s dinner. Contessa departs port on the morning of day 2.

Days 2-7
This Red Sea cruise route will take you to dive Abu Nuhas’s 4 wrecks. These are 4 ships that met their watery end at this, the most dangerous reef in the Red Sea. More boats have sunk here than anywhere else. You will also dive Rosalie Moeller and the famous SS Thistlegorm - the most famous of all the Red Sea wrecks. This ship sank after being hit by German military while on a mission to deliver to British troops a cargo of ammunition and vehicles. You can still see much of this intact and tethered to the wreck - a fascinating experience.
You will also dive in the Blue Hole of Dahab and in the Ras Mohamed National Park. Finning past the bright gorgonians and soft corals you will see schools of snapper, trevally and tuna. This diver’s paradise also promises crocodilefish, blue-spotted stingrays, scorpionfish and turtles. You can also dive the Straits of Tiran’s 4 famous reefs: Jackson, Thomas, Gordon, and Woodhouse) where nutrient-dense currents bring in meaty pelagics.
Most diving days on this cruise will feature 3 or 4 dives. The day of disembarkation is the exception, with normally 2 (or perhaps 3) dives before returning to port.
Each day’s dining includes pre-breakfast, breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. There may even be time for some diving! Meals are served buffet-style with waiter assistance. Your hot breakfast includes eggs, sausages, toast, cereal, pastries, fruit, juice, tea and coffee. Cuisine is chiefly international fare but you will also be treated to a few Egyptian and Arabic specialties. Fresh fish, roast chicken, pasta, rice, salads and soups will help to keep the hunger pangs at bay. Snacks are also available if you do get peckish between dives. These include fresh sliced fruit, cookies and pizza.

Day 8
On the final morning you can breakfast at leisure, and say goodbye to your new friends! Disembark, then you will be transferred to the airport.

The boat departs in the early hours of the morning, moving towards the first dive site of the cruise.

Days 2-7
The famous Brother Islands are 2 undersea mountains that rise from the depths and act as a magnet for sea life, offering breath-taking drift dives with a wide variety of pelagics. Their walls are covered in sponges, soft corals, black corals and gorgonian seafans, lending an astonishing variety of colour. Bucket list encounters include hammerheads, grey reef sharks, silvertips, whitetip reef sharks, thresher sharks and manta rays, especially during the summer months. Big tuna, schools of trevallies and snapper cruise by in the blue. You may also dive on the wreck Aida II, an Egyptian supply vessel, and the Numidia, a cargo ship that lies in the shallows of Big Brother Island. They are covered in soft and hard corals and are unforgettable. Daedalus Reef is the best place in Egypt for bucket-list encounters with hammerhead sharks, oceanic whitetips and thresher sharks, as well as manta rays. Elphinstone is home to schools of surgeonfish, fusiliers, trevallies and colourful reef fish. Sharks can occasionally be seen here too.
The Fury Shoals is a vast reef system. Sha'ab Claudio is a classic dive with its famous swim-throughs and huge porites corals, Malahi with its mazes and friendly turtles, and Abu Galawa Soraya with its fantastic coral garden and a wreck of a private sailing boat smothered with glassfish. Sataya, with its resident spinner dolphin population, is a must for snorkelling between dives, as well as having some good underwater offerings. Wadi Gimal is just to the south of Marsa Alam and is one of Egypt's largest national parks, There are many sites that would suit divers of all levels, featuring big tuna, barracudas, whitetip reef sharks, turtles and Napoleon wrasse.

Customer reviews:

Customer rating - Excellent
"We loved this boat, from the efficient transfers to the well organised briefings and good bottom time allowance of 60 mins per dive. The twin cabin was spacious and well designed for storage. Dive guides were very good and pointed out interesting marine animals - good at spotting hammerheads and thresher. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Dive platform at same level as zodiac so easy to get into the ladders on zodiacs. They made sure we were aware of the emergency exit procedures, fire extinguisher and emergency oxygen location. The food was buffet but at breakfast eggs are prepared to order. Great variety of food from roast beef, whole turkey, to moussaka, pastas, various chicken and beef preparations and lots of salads. I think they must have a Michelin starred pastry chef on SS Glory. Snacks are available all day.
We took our own dive equipment but their hire equipment looked new. The dives were planned to avoid other divers which was good. The trip was south to the Fury's. More leisurely dives, beautiful reefs. Visibility not as good but very warm water - 30, 31 degrees in July. I would definitely book this fleet again . Good quality service, boats and food, plus good value for money.
I always use Dive The World as the service I receive is excellent. I am kept informed of all the necessary paperwork requirements in a timely fashion. The staff let me know when dive trips are cancelled and will help to find another boat. I know I can rely on them.
