To the south of Viti Levu, less than an hour's boat ride away is Beqa Island, home to Beqa Lagoon Resort - voted "Best dive resort in the world" by Scuba Diving magazine. Here you can achieve some of the famed South Pacific paradise atmosphere without visiting the outer islands.
The resort is centred around a large lawn, decorated with tropical plants, and features a large beachside swimming pool with views over Beqa Lagoon. It has built a deserved reputation for the high quality of its food which is as fresh, varied and imaginative as you will find anywhere in Fiji, with guests choosing their preferred options from the menu each morning.
A feature of the resort that differentiates it from others is the 7 day a week events programme, including local school visits, a choir performance and a display of the legendary Beqa Island fire walking. Because of this, many guests choose a '2 dive a day' programme, with the afternoon left for relaxation and entertainment, although 3 dives per day is also possible, and there is unlimited shore diving as well as the option to go on an exhilarating shark feeding dive.
Beqa Lagoon Resort is built on a prime piece of land along the coastline of Beqa, and it manages to house 25 bures yet maintain a very spacious feel. There are 12 Beachfront bures including a Honeymoon bure, and you can expect your own private courtyard, plunge pool and hammock area to drink in your unrestricted seaview. There are also 9 Garden bures built around a delightful koi fish pond and 4 Two-bedroom Garden bures.

"At the resort the services, staff, food, diving, were fantastic. They even provided a cake for us on our wedding anniversary. The shark dive was amazing and we felt safe and well looked after the whole time. We'd definitely recommend them." - Amy Barnes, Singapore, 17 June 2016 ...
"They have wonderful staff and dive sites. The DMs are knowledgeable, friendly and capable but their gear is in sad shape. The staff is what makes this resort incredible. It is a beautiful location with access to world class dive sites. The bures are in need of maintenance but comfortable, big and well furnished. The beachfront burrs have nice plunge pools and big decks overlooking the beach- great for relaxing. We had heard the food was first class and were not at all disappointed by any of the meals. It is amazing the 5 star meals that appear from the kitchen. We took full advantage of the spa treatments and had some of the best massages ever! Everyone at the Beqa Resort works very hard to insure you enjoy your stay." - Suzanne Mitchell, USA, 17 March 2014 ...
