MY Excellence is a stylish purpose built Hurghada liveaboard running diving charters around some of the best dive sites of the Southern Red Sea, both in Egyptian and Sudanese waters. Up to 24 divers can be accommodated in 12 twin and double en-suite cabins. 4 of the cabins are on the upper deck giving superior views and more natural light.

The decking is teak wood and all the interior spaces are tastefully furnished in oak and mahogany and are comfortable. You can hang out in the large air conditioned lounge and dining room on the main deck which comes complete with full multimedia entertainment, free internet facility, and even a bar for those post dive tipples. This is the main social spot on the boat, as well as the partially shaded sundeck which suits sun bathers and shade-seekers alike.

At 34 metres long, MY Excellence boasts a huge dive deck where there is always plenty of room for kitting up, preparing for dives on air, free nitrox or with rebreathers. Spacious, comfortable and stylish, MY Excellence excels among Egypt's liveaboard dive charters based in Hurghada.

Cruise price per person includes: Cabin accommodation with air-conditioning, breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, soft drinks, water and hot drinks (e.g. instant coffee, tea), dives (as detailed in the trips above), port and park fees, nitrox fills for enriched air certified divers (Egypt trips only), experienced English-speaking divemaster(s) (8 divers per DM), tanks, weights and weightbelts, return transfers - boat-airport (HRG-PG, HRG-HG, RMF-PG), all taxes.

Cruise price per person excludes (mandatory, unless customer provides own): Scuba equipment (incl. dive computer or torch, US$ 181 per week), diving insurance (available for purchase onboard). For Sudan trips - entry visa (US$ 260, or US$ 310 for USA nationals - in new bank notes), Sudanese taxes (US$ 195 for 1 week), fuel surcharge and taxes (US$ 100 for 1 week). Unless otherwise stated, all the listed items need to be paid on arrival (cash or credit card).

Optional extras: Alcoholic drinks, torch (US$ 41 per week), 15 litre tank (US$ 46 per week), transfers from airport to boat (RMF-HG), nitrox fills for enriched air certified divers (Sudan trips only - US$ 72 per week). How to get there: Egypt trips: MY Excellence departs from Hurghada and Port Ghalib, and return transfers from local airports to the departure point can be arranged. Check in time starts at 5 pm on the first day (boat departs the next morning). Check out before 10 am on the last day (last night usually on the boat in the harbour). Sudan trips: Excellence departs from Port Sudan for Sudan liveaboard trips. There are flights from Cairo to Port Sudan with Egypt Air and Sudan Airways. This is a much easier route than flying into Khartoum. Included in the Sudan visa fee are return transfers from Port Sudan to the departure point.
The last dive of the trip will be at around 13:00 hrs noon on the second last day of the trip. Please wait at least 18 hours before flying after diving.

Non-diver rate: 5-10% off the published price. Depends on season and request.

Single supplement (if you do not want to share accommodation): This is optional - single travellers may choose to share a cabin or pay a supplement of 80% of the published price.

Dive clubs and group discounts: Pay for 7 guests and 1 extra person can join the cruise in a standard cabin free of charge.

Red Sea North, Wrecks & Tiran Straits (8 Days / 7 Nights - 21 Dives)

Day 1
The MY Excellence departs from Hurghada Marina. Check in is not before 17:00 hrs on the first day of the cruise. You will be picked up from Hurghada Airport by a representative of the Sea Serpent Fleet who will also help you with the visa on arrival procedures, retrieve your luggage, and take you to the marina which is only 20 minutes away. The tour leader and the rest of the liveaboard crew will welcome you on board. Once all the guests arrive there will be a briefing that introduces the boat amenities, the crew, and the main details of the safari you are about to enjoy during this fantastic diving vacation in the Red Sea. Dinner will be served in the saloon. The boat will leave port in the early morning hours, heading towards the first dive site of the trip.

Days 2-7
This Red Sea diving tour will give you several dives at the most famous wrecks in the northern Red Sea, including the famous 4 wrecks of Abu Nuhas, a shallow reef that has claimed more ships than any other in the Red Sea. The wrecks are covered in soft and hard corals and they are perfect subjects for underwater photographers. Another couple of very famous wrecks are the SS Thistlegorm and the recently discovered Rosalie Moeller. These are World War II wrecks that were bombed by the Germans while on a mission to deliver a cargo of ammunition and war materials to the British troops. With its historical cargo of World War II machinery and equipment, all neatly stowed in its open holds, the wreck of the Thistlegorm would be a highlight of diving anywhere in the world.
You will also dive in the Ras Mohamed National Park, located in Sinai and famous for its breath-taking walls, rich in soft corals and gorgonian fans, that are visited by huge schools of schools of snapper, trevallies and tuna. Turtles, blue-spotted sting rays, crocodilefish, scorpionfish and lionfish are always present. A real paradise for divers. The 4 famous reefs of the Strait of Tiran (Jackson, Woodhouse, Thomas and Gordon) are often visited by large pelagics in search of nutrients by the currents.
4 dives a day will be the norm on most days, except on the day before disembarkation that will have only 2 or 3 scheduled dives before returning to Hurghada.

Brother Islands, Daedalus Reef and Elphinstone are a must for all experienced divers. You will surely have fun while diving drop-offs, wrecks, and huge gorgonians and colourful soft corals that are home to octopus, lionfish, nudibranchs, frogfish, large schools of fish: an underwater photographer's dream! Bucket list encounters include hammerheads, oceanic whitetips, whale sharks, thresher sharks and manta rays. Lots of curious turtles, Napoleon wrasse and whitetip reef sharks will be common encounters on several occasions.

Photographers will appreciate the colourful fans and corals on the reefs and drop-offs. Shark lovers will appreciate threshers, oceanic whitetips, hammerheads and rare whale sharks, as well as manta rays.
This route also includes St John’s Reefs, one of the most famous areas in the deep south and the healthiest reefs in Egypt. Larger creatures sighted here include silvertip sharks, grey reef sharks, whitetips, turtles, Napoleon wrasse and mantas. If you are in luck you might even run into a dugong or 2. Topographical variations include tunnels and swimthroughs, pinnacles and drop-offs, plus shallow hard coral gardens.

Zabargad Island is a popular diving region, distinguished by the variety of dive sites and a 70 metre-long wreck. Rocky Island is a site that can get the adrenaline going. When its currents are in full flow. Thanks to its exposed location and small circumference, it is a very lively reef. Silvertip sharks and grey reef sharks are often present in the blue and if you are in luck there may also be mantas and dolphins.

Meaty pelagics are drawn to the smaller fish that gather here to feed on the nutrient-rich water flow. These include hammerheads and oceanic whitetips.

This Red Sea diving tour visits St. John's Reefs, where the dive sites are very close to each other so it is easy to cruise from one to the next. You will surely have fun while diving drop-offs, pinnacles, tunnels and amazing hard-coral reefs, huge gorgonians and colourful soft corals that are home for rays, sharks, octopus, lionfish, nudibranchs, frogfish, large schools of fish: an underwater photographer’s dream! Lots of curious turtles, Napoleon wrasse and whitetip reef sharks will be common encounters, while dugongs are more difficult creatures to find. Mantas, grey reef and silvertip sharks can often be seen in the blue.
Zabargad Island is a site with various dives sites dotted around it including a wreck of 70 metres in length. Rocky Island is a site that often goes hand in hand with Zabargad. It is an island with a very small circumference and with a very exposed location. The currents that move around the island make it a lively reef with headlining creatures like grey reef sharks, silvertips and maybe even manta rays and dolphins.

This itinerary includes the much-loved St. John’s Reefs where there are many sites in a small area, meaning th boat does not have far to move between sites. There are a variety of topographies to experience here: drop-offs, tunnels, pinnacles and more. Creatures to be sighted here include sharks such as whitetips, grey reef sharks and silvertips. Also in the blue you should look out for manta rays, turtles and Napoleon wrasses. Smaller creatures around the hard corals are nudibranchs, lionfish and frogfish.

The day starts with a light breakfast of hot drinks and cookies, followed by a real breakfast in between the 2 morning dives: omelette, chicken and beef sausages, sliced cheese, scrambled eggs, toast, spreads, crepes, hot coffee and tea. All meals on M/Y Excellence are served buffet style with waiter assistance in the air-conditioned restaurant on the upper deck. Mainly international and local Egyptian cuisine, with a main course and salad followed by a dessert. Hot soups are also served after the night dive, during dinner. Afternoon snacks are served after the 3rd dive, such as fried coconut, fresh fruit such as mango, water melon and guava, pizza, bread sticks and chocolate biscuits.

Day 9
Wake up with a light breakfast before checking out between 10:00 and 12:00 hrs. You will be transferred back to the airport.

Day 1
The MY Excellence uses 2 departure ports: Hurghada and Port Ghalib. In either scenario, embarkation may take place any time on the first day late afternoon onwards. for itineraries departing from Hurghada you will be met on arrival at Hurghada airport, be given assistance with visa on arrival procedures, and then transferred by air-conditioned minivan to Hurghada. The transfer takes around 20 minutes. For itineraries departing from Port Ghalib you may fly into either Hurghada or Marsa Alam. The transfer to Port Ghalib from Hurghada airport takes 3 hours. Upon embarkation you will be welcomed on board and given a boat and cruise briefing. After being assigned, and settling into, your cabin you can get to know your fellow divers over the first night’s dinner. The yacht departs port on the morning of day 2.

Days 2-7
Brother Islands and Elphinstone are popular locations for experienced Red Sea divers, especially photographers and lovers of sharks. Photographers will appreciate the colourful fans and corals on the reefs and drop-offs. There are great smaller subjects around including octopus. Frogfish, lionfish, nudibranchs and countless schools of fish. Larger creatures include turtles, Napoleon wrasses and manta rays. Shark lovers will appreciate threshers, oceanic whitetips, hammerheads, whitetips and whale sharks.
