Day 1
The Seafari staff will welcome you at the arrival hall of Hurghada or Marsa Alam Airport. An air-conditioned van will take you to Port Ghalib or Hurghada marina where the Dolce Vita dive yacht is moored. The journey from Hurghada to Port Ghalib takes about 3 hours. Otherwise it’s only a few minutes to Port Ghalib from Marsa Alam Airport if you have landed there, and a similar distance to Hurghada marina from Hurghada Airport. Once onboard the liveaboard you will be met by the boat crew and the tour leader, who will assign you to your cabin and provide a briefing on boat safety and the upcoming week of activities. Enjoy your dinner in the air-conditioned saloon before going to bed; your diving will start tomorrow.
Days 2-7
The famous Brother Islands are 2 undersea mountains that rise from the depths and act as a magnet for sea life, offering breath-taking drift dives with a wide variety of pelagics. Their walls are covered in sponges, soft corals, black corals and gorgonian seafans, lending an astonishing variety of colour. Bucket list encounters include hammerheads, grey reef sharks and silvertips. Big tuna, schools of trevallies and snapper cruise by in the blue. You may also dive on the wreck Aida II, an Egyptian supply vessel, and the Numidia, a cargo ship that lies in the shallows of Big Brother Island. They are covered in soft and hard corals and are unforgettable. Daedalus Reef is home to schools of surgeonfish, fusiliers, trevallies and colourful reef fish. Hammerheads, oceanic whitetips and thresher sharks can be seen here, as well as manta rays, especially during the summer months.

In the deep south of Egypt you will have the chance to dive St. John’s Reefs, the healthiest and most colourful in the Red Sea, with their fantastic drop offs, pinnacles, canyons, caves and tunnels, and amazing hard-corals. There is a lot of marine life too, such as barracuda, different types of reef shark, sometimes even turtles, Napoleon wrasse, dolphins, dugongs and mantas.
3-4 dives a day are the norm in the Red Sea. You will dive at some very special and world famous reefs and wrecks. Ras Mohamed is one of the best kept national parks in Egypt. Its waters are rich in nutrients, attracting pelagics, and in the summer months even schools of scalloped hammerheads might visit. The most famous wreck in the Red Sea, the SS Thistlegorm, will leave you in awe: it was sunk in 1941 after being bombed by the German Luftwaffe and lies upright on the sea-bottom at 32m. With its historical cargo of World War II machinery and equipment, all neatly stowed in its open holds, the wreck of the Thistlegorm would be a highlight of diving anywhere in the world. The Rosalie Moeller, carrying a cargo of coal, suffered the same fate just 2 days later. The north side of Abu Nuhas features 4 wrecks on a steep sloping reef layered with table corals. The wrecks here - the Giannis D, the Carnatic, the Chrisoula K and the Kimon M – are an attraction point for divers from all around the world, as they are now encrusted with beautiful corals that attract lots of reef fish. Inside the wrecks expect to find thousands of glassfish.
The Straits of Tiran are one of the most famous diving areas in the Red Sea. The strong current brings plenty of nutrients and schooling fish to the reef, tempting pelagic fish in from the open water. Large schools of barracuda and jacks are common here, as are larger predators including several species of shark.

One of the more current-swept regions of the Red Sea is Rocky Island. Here the nutrient-rich water movement gives rise to healthy gorgonian fans, black coral trees and sponges. Often found sheltering in quieter spots are turtles, grey reef sharks, silvertips, and perhaps also mantas and dolphins. Manta rays and dolphins are also common visitors. Zabargad island is a site populated by soldierfish, wrasses and schools of snappers. It features walls, drop-offs and shallow coral gardens.

The Fury Shoals is a vast reef system. Sha'ab Claudio is a classic dive with its famous swim-throughs and huge porites corals, Malahi with its mazes and friendly turtles, and Abu Galawa Soraya with its fantastic coral garden and a wreck of a private sailing boat smothered with glassfish. Sataya, with its resident spinner dolphin population, is a must for snorkelling between dives, as well as having some good underwater offerings.
