Rocio Del Mar is a 110ft (34m) long steel-hulled liveaboard that explores Mexico's Pacific waters all year round, visiting Socorro, the Midriff Islands and the Sea of Cortez depending on your choice of itinerary. Up to 22 divers can be accommodated on board in cabins with private bathrooms on a range of different trips operating out of Puerto Penasco or San Jose del Cabo.
You can enjoy a free glass of beer or wine in the air-conditioned lounge or dedicated dining area, although the open air shaded sun deck is a more popular spot with its soft furnishings and ever-changing views of the Pacific ocean. Sea kayaks are available for those who wish to explore the islands during surface times.
10 crew attend to your every need and the scuba diving activities are conducted both from the stern of the mothership and from inflatable tenders, depending on the nature of the dive site. Nitrox is available at additional charge. The well-organized dive deck includes a camera table and rinse tank plus individual equipment stations.

Mexico is a popular destination with limited liveaboard spaces. We recommend you book well in advance to avoid disappointment.
Dive experience: The only requirement to join liveaboard cruises in Mexico on Rocio Del Mar is an open water diving certification, although at least 50 prior logged dives are recommended. Divers should do their best to ensure they are comfortable at diving before coming on board.
Cruise price per person includes: Cabin accommodation, breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, drinking water, soft drinks, hot drinks, local beers and wine, dives (as detailed in the trips above), experienced English-speaking divemasters (1 guide for 7 divers), standard tanks, weights and weightbelts, Nautilus Lifeline (personal diver locator), port fees and Mexican taxes on cruise price.
Cruise price per person excludes (mandatory, unless customer provides own): Scuba equipment (bring your own wetsuit, mask and fins), surface marker buoy, dive computer, whistle, dive and travel insurance, national park fee: Sea of Cortez (US$ 6 per dive day) and Socorro (US$ 192 per dive day), possible fuel surcharge (guests will be notified before boarding). Unless otherwise stated, all the listed items need to be paid on arrival (cash or credit card).
Optional extras: Transfers to the boat from the airport/hotel (US$ 150 per person return from Phoenix airport), nitrox fills for enriched air divers (US$ 140 for the trip). How to get there: Socorro: The Rocio del Mar liveaboard departs in the morning from San Jose del Cabo for trips to the Socorro islands. Guests fly into nearby Los Cabos international airport. You should plan to arrive the day before departure. Boarding is at 17:00 hrs with departure late in the evening. The marina is 25 minutes from the airport and 5 minutes from downtown San Jose del Cabo. An airport shuttle service can be arranged. The boat will spend the last night of the cruise in the harbor and disembark at 08:30 hrs on the last day.
Sea of Cortez: For diving tours to the Sea of Cortez, Rocio del Mar departs in the evening from Puerto Penasco, Mexico, on the northern coast of the Sea of Cortez. Most guests fly through Phoenix Sky Harbor airport, 4 hours drive from Puerto Penasco. An airport shuttle service can be arranged. Boarding is at 17:00 hrs and the boat departs at 17:00 hrs with the first dive at 07:00 hrs the following morning. Guests disembark on the final day at 07:00 and they should book flights from Phoenix no earlier than 14:00 hrs.

Non-diver rate: None.
Single supplement (if you do not want to share accommodation): This is optional - single travelers may choose to share a cabin or pay a supplement of 100% of the published price for their own private cabin.
Dive clubs and group discounts: Pay for 9 guests and 1 extra person can join the cruise in a Standard cabin free of charge.
Whole boat charter rate (per night): Pay for 18 guests and 2 additional persons can join the cruise free of charge (total 20 guests).

Rocio del Mar has 10 Stateroom cabins with ensuite bathrooms - 8 on the main deck and 2 on the upper deck. 6 main deck cabins are twin bed, 2 are double bed. The 2 upper deck cabins have a double bed and a single bed.

The aim on board the Rocio del Mar liveaboard is to serve the best food possible using fresh ingredients and creating an imaginative menu. The '5 star' onboard chef creates freshly baked bread and homemade soups every day. Beginning with a pre-dive breakfast, the daily dining experience then involves a cooked breakfast, lunch and dinner, with snacks in between to keep the hunger at bay. You can expect an array of international cuisine with some delectable Mexican specialties.
