Serenity

Serenity is a 33m yacht that operates diving tours to the best sites in the Red Sea. It is managed by a PADI 5-Star IDC Dive Center whose priority is to provide a safe, pleasurable, and enjoyable liveaboard experience. Its founders are passionate divers themselves with 20 years of experience under their belt of diving in in Egypt.

The yacht operates an all-inclusive pricing policy with no hidden extras. It can accommodate 20 guests in lower-, and upper deck cabins with seaviews. Each cabin has its own private bathroom. The lounge section of the saloon has a TV, where guests can relax and watch a film from the onboard movie selection, or try their hand at PlayStation 5. The upper deck has a shaded, open air social area and a bar where guests can enjoy a drink or two after each day of diving. The partially shaded sun deck is equipped with plenty of sun loungers, bean bags and lounge seating.

Tasty meals are served in the dining section of the air-conditioned saloon. When it comes to dining on the Serenity liveaboard with an open buffet, it's all about the experience. Imagine cruising along the crystal-clear waters, enjoying the stunning views of the Red Sea while indulging in an array of delicious dishes. You can sample traditional dishes from the region or opt for international cuisine.

Serenity uses 2 dinghies with 70 HP outboard engines to transport divers to the sites, each equipped with ladders. Nitrox is provided free of charge for suitably certified divers. On a tour boat where small details matter, the dive guides are highly trained to provide a superior guest experience, and the diving equipment used onboard is impeccably maintained. The dive deck also has 2 additional bathrooms for guest convenience.

Notes: Child policy: No children under the age of 4 will be allowed on the boat. Children over the age of 4 years and up to 15 years must be supervised by at least one parent or designated responsible adult at all times.

Dive experience: We strongly recommend a minimum of 20 logged dives for the north route and 50 dives for the south route. Divers may be excluded from particular dives or the itinerary may be altered due to insufficient experience, at the discretion of the dive guides. Guests who have not been diving for 1 year or longer should complete a scuba-review, signed in their logbook before the trip.

Cruise price per person includes: Cabin accommodation with air-conditioning, breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, water, soft drinks, hot drinks, round trip transfers from local airport (see below), dives (as detailed in the trips above), nitrox fills for certified enriched air divers, 2 experienced English-speaking divemasters, 12 litre tanks (DIN and adapter), weightbelt and weights, all taxes.

Cruise price per person excludes (mandatory, unless customer provides own): Scuba equipment (incl. dive computer and SMB: US$ 41 per week), port and park fees (US$ 155 per week). Unless otherwise stated, all the listed items need to be paid on arrival (cash - EUR/EGP/USD, or credit/debit card).

Optional extras: Diving insurance (purchasable onboard), torch (US$ 5 per day), special tanks (US$ 15 per day). Unless otherwise stated, all the listed items need to be paid on arrival. Note: prices of items purchased onboard are subject to change.

How to get there: Serenity's 7-night liveaboard tours use either the Marriott Hurghada Marina or Port Ghalib as their operating port. The local airport is either Hurghada (HRG) or Marsa Alam (RMF) airport. Minibus transfers are provided from the local airport. Transfer times depend on guest arrival and departure times. The first and last nights of the trip are spent in port. Guests board on the first day at or after 6 pm. The last dive of the tour will be about 11 am on the penultimate day. Guests disembark at 8 am on the final day. Please wait at least 24 hours (longer than recommended by diving agencies) before flying after diving.
Serenity's 3- and 4-night trips depart from El Gouna (near Hurghada) at 9 am and return to port at 5 pm. Divers should only arrange flights for the day after the end of the trip.

Non-diver rate: 5% discount.

Single supplement (if you do not want to share accommodation): This is optional - single travellers may choose to share a cabin, or pay a supplement of 80% for their own cabin.

Dive clubs and group discounts: Pay for 10 guests and 1 additional person can join the cruise free of charge (total 11 or more guests).

Whole boat charter rate (per night): 25% discount on individual prices.

Turtles, crocodilefish, blue-spotted sting rays, scorpionfish and lionfish are always around in this scuba diving paradise. You will also dive the 4 famous reefs of the Strait of Tiran: Jackson, Woodhouse, Thomas and Gordon. These magnificent formations, rising from the depths, are often frequented by large pelagics due to the abundance of currents.

Days 2-7
The famous Brother Islands are among the best loved sites of the Red Sea. They are 2 exposed promontories which act as a magnet for marine life. You can dive along walls festooned with soft corals, anemones and brightly coloured sponges. Sharks are frequently sighted here: scalloped hammerheads, silvertips, whitetips and grey reef sharks being the most numerous. At Big Brother there is a wreck called the Numidia which lies in the shallows and is bedecked in hard and soft corals and gorgonians fans. At Daedalus and Elphinstone the reefs are full of myriad tropical fish plus schools of trevallies, fusiliers and surgeonfish. Sharks here are more likely to be hammerheads, oceanic whitetips and threshers. You can also see manta rays in the summer time.

The reef at Daedalus is home to schools of surgeonfish, fusiliers, trevallies and colourful reef fish. Hammerheads, oceanic whitetips and thresher sharks can be seen here, as well as manta rays, usually seen during the summer months. One of the more current-swept regions of the Red Sea is Rocky Island. Here the nutrient-rich water movement gives rise to healthy gorgonian fans, black coral trees and sponges. Often found sheltering in quieter spots are turtles, grey reef sharks, and silvertips. Manta rays and dolphins are also common visitors. Zabargad island is a site populated by soldierfish, wrasses and schools of snappers. It features walls, drop-offs and shallow coral gardens.

The Rosalie Moeller, carrying a cargo of coal, suffered the same fate just 2 days later. 4 wrecks will be the highlights of diving at Abu Nuhas, all offering spectacular dives and plenty of marine life, making fantastic material for the underwater photographer.

Days 2-7
In the deep south of Egypt you will have the chance to dive St. John’s Reefs, the healthiest and most colourful in the Red Sea, with their fantastic drop offs, pinnacles, canyons, caves and tunnels, and amazing hard-corals. There is a lot of marine life too, such as barracuda, different types of reef shark, sometimes even turtles, Napoleon wrasse, dolphins, dugongs and mantas.
The Fury Shoals is a vast reef system. Sha'ab Claudio is a classic dive with its famous swim-throughs and huge porites corals, Malahi with its mazes and friendly turtles, and Abu Galawa Soraya with its fantastic coral garden and a wreck of a private sailing boat smothered with glassfish. Sataya, with its resident spinner dolphin population, is a must for snorkelling between dives, as well as having some good underwater offerings.

The north side of Abu Nuhas, near Hurghada, features 4 wrecks on a steep sloping reef layered with table corals. The wrecks here - the Giannis D, the Carnatic, the Chrisoula K and the Kimon M - are an attraction point for divers from all around the world, as they are now encrusted with beautiful corals that attract lots of reef fish. A maximum of 4 dives per day are offered during any safari, of which 3 are conducted during the day, and 1 might be done as a night dive. On the penultimate day, the yacht returns to port in the afternoon after 2 dives.

You will wake up after a calm night in the harbour and disembark after breakfast. The crew will transfer you to Hurghada Airport in time for your flight.
