Ilike is an Indonesian liveaboard that operates diving safaris to all the top destinations, including Komodo, Alor, the Banda Sea, Triton Bay, Raja Ampat and Cenderawasih Bay. These cruises are aimed at experienced scuba divers only; because their aim is to always dive at the best spots to see the best action!

The yacht a 30m traditional schooner, built in Sulawesi in 2010 and made of ironwood and teak. It accommodates 16 guests in 8 cabins that are fully air-conditioned with ensuite bathroom with hot water shower, toilet and sink. Linen is changed mid-week and fresh towels are placed in each cabin as needed. Lucky guests can opt for the main deck Seaview Suite if they prefer.

The crew of 15 offer the ultimate in service. While onboard, you may pick a buddy of your choice, or dive with one of the crew members. The yacht offers 3 or 4 dives per day depending on route, including night dives, air or nitrox. All dives are made from 2 motorised tenders, with a maximum of 4 divers per boat, plus guide. The tenders are reputed to be the most comfortable in Indonesia: spacious with special camera storage, comfortable ladder at the back, fast and clean engines. Guests board the tender and then don their scuba gear at the site. The staff are meticulously trained in handling expensive camera equipment, ever vigilant to the sea’s surface, and helping divers in and out of the water. The guides are also expert in even the most remote of Indonesian dive locations, being among the forerunners of liveaboard cruises in the Banda Sea and Triton Bay, and having special permission to dive at all the sites in the Misool Eco Project reserve.

Meals are served in the spacious saloon or in the outdoor sitting area at the stern of the boat. The menu throughout each day is varied and plentiful, with a variety of Western and local cuisine. You will awaken to fresh fruit, hot entrees, cereals and juices, as well as a cooked to order breakfast. Lunches are buffet-style featuring delicious Indonesian cuisine. Chef prepared dinners are served with table-side service each evening and include salad, vegetables, seafood, beef or chicken, with a fresh homemade dessert. Whether it’s your anniversary, birthday, honeymoon, wedding or you are celebrating a 1,000th dive, please let us know so the crew can celebrate your occasion.

Between dives you are invited to catch some sun on the sun deck, where you can also enjoy spectacular sunsets, sipping a cool drink. If you have a favorite movie or video, we encourage you to bring it along. The crew especially loves new releases of movies, music, recent magazines and books. A small library of books for exchange is maintained onboard as well as fish identification books for reference. The rich marine life, healthy corals and stunning landscapes of Indonesia may soon become a reality of your stay on board Ilike.

If you have between 50 and 75 logged dives, we can arrange a private dive guide for you if the booking is made at least 1 month before start. This extra service is at additional cost and subject to availability. Or you can bring your own experienced dive buddy (minimum 150 logged dives) who will take care of you! Please note that the daily schedule will not be changed to meet the dive skills of inexperienced divers.

Days 2-10
The marine biodiversity in Halmahera is exceptional and its pristine coral reefs offer exceptional conditions for scuba diving and snorkeling; it is a secret gem with so much still to be discovered. You will have the chance to do some wreck diving and experience some of the best coral gardens that Indonesia has to offer. Dive sites range from ridges, pinnacles, caverns, swim-throughs, muck and ancient volcanoes, creating a diversity of diving and coral habitats. Schooling reef fish such as spadefish and surgeonfish, and bait balls attract numerous hunters, tunas, and mackerel and you can also search under the docks at Makian and Lilai for critters. Other encounters can include hammerheads, barracuda, oceanic whitetip sharks, mantas, mobulas, bumphead parrotfish, trevallies, Napoleon wrasse, bonitos and wahoo.
You will soon discover why Raja Ampat is considered as a world class diving destination. Enjoy the abundance of tropical fish around pristine soft and hard corals, including snappers, soldierfish and anthias. The macro marine life is also excellent. From frogfish to pygmy seahorses, pipefish to nudibranchs (of every form and colour!). A wide angle lens will also be necessary for your pictures to snap as trevallies, barracudas, mantas and sharks, plus the endemic spotted wobbegong, even in shallow waters.
The chef does the groceries between each trip. He goes to local markets and picks the fresh fruit, vegetables, meat and fish that he prefers and creates an amazing menu. If we meet local fisherman during the trip, and they have fresh fish or seafood, the chef will not hesitate to surprise you! The mix of international and local dishes will meet everyone’s expectations: from delicious Nasi to a juicy burger. Tasty meals make happy divers, we know.
Meals are served at the outdoor table towards the stern of the boat. In case of rain, covers are provided so you can still enjoy the outdoor life. Before the early morning dive, we provide coffee, tea, cookies and fruit. We want to be in the water ASAP. There will be a cooked to order breakfast between the 1st and 2nd dive, including fresh fruit, pancakes, eggs to your choice, hot entrees, cereals and fruit juices. Ilike is also famous for its fresh homemade bread each day, unique in Indonesia! Lunch is buffet style and usually features Indonesian cuisine and pasta. After lunch, you will look forward to the 3rd, and sometimes 4th dive (night dive). Dinner is served table-side after the last dive, and includes salad, vegetables, seafood, beef or chicken, with a fresh homemade dessert. Snacks and soft drinks are available throughout the day.
After 2 dives, the boat will arrive back in port during the evening of the penultimate day.
