Manta Queen 2 is ideal for short 3 night liveaboards trips to Koh Bon, Koh Tachai, Richelieu Rock and Boonsung Wreck. This wooden-hulled Thailand liveaboard is 24m in length and features 9 cabins to accommodate a maximum of 20 guests, serviced by 6 boat crew and 5 dive staff.

Bathrooms are shared among the air-conditioned cabins across 3 types: 5 twin bed cabins, 3 double bed cabins, which are the same per person price, and 1 quad cabin.

Guests tend to socialise in the open air upper deck or on the spacious sun deck. There is also a ‘saloon’ (which is a comfy nook) to stretch out with a good book, or enjoy the free internet connection when signal permits.

Buffet style meals are enjoyed in the open air dining area. You can expect a range of dishes including Thai or international cuisine all of which are free of MSG. Vegans, vegetarians and those with dietary restrictions can be catered for with prior notice. Snacks and fruits are served between dives.

The dive deck features 2 rows of diver stations with crates for smaller equipment pieces where tanks are filled with air and nitrox. You can rinse off after each dive in the 2 hot water showers on the dive deck. There are both 12 and 15 litre tanks available.The dive platform from which you giant stride into the water has 2 wide ladders for easy exit. There is also a dinghy for beach and island visits as part of your Thailand diving adventure.

Dive experience: If your last dive was more than 1 year ago and you have less than 50 dives, a scuba review is recommended and you cannot do this on this boat. You can enroll in the advanced course and then no scuba review is needed. If you have not dived in 2 years, then a scuba review is mandatory.

Cruise price per person includes: Cabin accommodation with air-conditioning, breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, drinking water, hot drinks, return transfers to the boat from Khao Lak (only), dives (as detailed in the trips above), experienced English-speaking divemaster(s), (4-5 divers per DM), tanks, weights and weightbelts), torches, all taxes.

Cruise price per person excludes (mandatory, unless customer provides own): 7% VAT on cruise price (to be paid in advance), dive equipment (full set US$ 35 per trip plus 7% VAT), dive insurance (can also be purchased on arrival at THB 250 per day plus 7% VAT), Similan park fee at approximately US$ 6 per day, with an entry fee of US$ 15. Unless otherwise stated, all the listed items need to be paid on arrival at the dive shop in Khao Lak (in cash and Thai Baht only).

Optional extras: Soft drinks, alcoholic drinks, nitrox fills for certified divers, dive computer, 15 litre tanks, 2 hour scuba review in a pool the day before the trip (US$ 73 plus 7% VAT), minibus transfer to the boat from Phuket and Phuket airport at scheduled times. Unless otherwise stated, all the listed items need to be paid on arrival at the dive shop in Khao Lak (in cash and Thai Baht only).

How to get there: MV Manta Queen 2 Similan dive charters depart in the evening from Khao Lak. A minibus service to and from the boat is available. Pick up in Phuket is at 11:30-15:30 hrs, in Khao Lak at 16:00 hrs. Guests must check in at the dive centre in Khao Lak between 16-18:00 hrs, and will board the boat at 19:00 hrs. The liveaboard departs the pier thereafter. For more information see our Thailand travel information section. The final dive will be at around 13:15 hrs on the last full day of the trip, and the boat returns to the pier at 16:30 hrs. Guests will arrive back in Khao Lak at 17:00 hrs or Phuket at 18-19:00 hrs. Please wait at least 18 hours before flying after diving.

Non-diver rate: Approximately 5% off the published price.

Single supplement (if you do not want to share accommodation): This is optional - single travellers may choose to share a cabin or pay a supplement of 88% of the published price.

Dive clubs and group discounts: Pay for 6 guests and receive 1 extra space free of charge in the Quad bed cabin.

Manta Queen 2 has 9 cabins in total on both the lower and main decks. The main deck is home to 2 Standard double bed cabins and 5 Standard twin bed cabins. The lower deck has 1 Standard double bed cabin and 1 four-share cabin. All cabins are air-conditioned and have 3 shared bathrooms.
