Tired of the lockdowns? Desperate for the excitement of some travel and to get wet once more? Here's a list of our dive destinations that are open right now:
The worldwide situation with COVID and governmental travel restrictions continue to change. Unfortunately many parts of the world are seeing case numbers rise again (currently with lower death rates than initially seen). This is causing governments to resort once more to lockdown measures and travel restrictions.
However, some diving destinations are open for business right now -
- Maldives - open year round, but best time to go is December to May
- Egypt - open year round, but best time to go is March to November
- Sudan - October to July, but best time to go is October/November and March to July
- Oman - open year round, but best time to go is April to November (except July/August)
- Djibouti - open December to February
- Mexico - Socorro: October to July; Sea of Cortez: June to November, Guadalupe: July to November
- Costa Rica - open year round
- Galapagos - open year round
- Hawaii - open year round, but best time to go is May to November
- Belize - open year round, but best time to go is December to May
- Bahamas - open year round, but best time to go is April to July
- Honduras - open year round, but best time to go is February to September
- Saba & St Kitts - open year round, but best time to go is December to June
- Turks & Caicos - open year round, but best time to go is December to July
- Dominican Republic - open January to April
- Fiji - from 1 December 2021, open year round, but best time to go is April to October
- Palau - open year round, but best time to go is November to May
- Thailand (partially open) - open year round, but best time to go to dive in the Andaman Sea.is November to April, and to dive in the Gulf of Thailand.is March to May and October-November.

The published schedules of many liveaboards, and resorts' opening plans, seem to change with each piece of COVID/travel bad news. So there is no guarantee the operator website information (and consequently ours) is accurate. We need to consult them re any specific trips or dates that guests are interested in. We are in constant communication with operators all over the world. So ask us about when and where you are interested in. We will get you the latest, most reliable information directly from the operators.
We have helped many of our customers re-schedule their plans to later dates and in some extreme cases we have achieved refunds from operators. We are also making bookings for you, our customers. So please get in touch if you want to make plans for your next diving adventure. We all want to move on from this. We are encouraged by the statistics of air travel safety, vaccine progress and improving treatments. We are now also able to offer COVID medical insurance.
Hopefully governments will soon be in a position to safely make normalising decisions and we can get back to enjoying our lives - and go diving!
