Thai UK Ambassador Urges Brits To Use LOCATE

Thailand is a consistently popular destination with British divers.  The British Ambassador to Thailand is urging British tourists to register with the UK LOCATE service.

Snorkelling at Donald Duck Bay in the Similan Islands - photo courtesy of Marcel Widmer - Seasidepix.com“Whether you are visiting Thailand on holiday, flying in for a business trip or simply reside in this beautiful land of smiles, the last thing you want is to be caught up in a situation in which your loved ones cannot locate your whereabouts,” Ambassador Quayle said. “I’d like to encourage British nationals in Thailand to register with LOCATE so that, if necessary, we will be able to contact your next of kin and locate you.”

Specifically geared to national emergencies, this service will help friends and/or family find you if incidents occur.  Registration is online where you can also sign up for email alerts and receive warnings and travel updates for the area.

Your information is password protected and access is controlled by the UK’s Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
