Whale sharks, wrecks and muck diving, is this possible in one location? Well yes! In the remotest parts of the remotest dive location on the planet – Cenderawasih Bay & Triton Bay. This incredibly stunning region is the new frontier of diving, possibly the last place that you can feel that pioneering spirit as you dive pristine and sometimes completely undiscovered dive sites from the few liveaboards that venture there .
The main draw in Cenderawasih Bay is the up close and extended encounters with the biggest fish in the world – the huge but graceful whale shark. No fleeting glimpses of the elegantly spotted skin here, these wonderful creatures gather around the local fishing platforms (bagans) to feed on the leftover catch, guaranteeing divers an enviable amount of time in crystal clear waters to get that perfect shot of up to 5 whale sharks in one frame!
Triton Bay is just as incredible, home to a huge diversity of species from pilot whales to pygmy seahorses and even walking sharks! Stunning soft and hard coral gardens and a volume of fish that has to be seen to be believed.
