This has been 1 of the wettest seasons that Indonesia has had for many years. But that doesn’t mean you need to cancel your plans for a Komodo diving holiday. The crew of the Seven Seas liveaboard reports the diving in Komodo is as spectacular as ever!

According to the Seven Seas crew, “underwater visibility at the southern sites in Komodo has been better than usual for this time of year“. They report excellent diving conditions at Yellow Wall and Cannibal Rock.

In addition to many excellent sightings of manta rays, “other highlights of the Komodo season so far include a pod of blue whales near Tatawa Besar in late July, and a mother-and-calf pair of Dugong (Dugong dugon) spotted underwater by fortunate divers in late August“.

The heavy rainfall in Bali has been attributed to higher than usual water temperatures in the ocean between Northern Australia and Indonesia as well as an unusual El Niño Southern Oscillation.

Komodo also experienced a few scattered showers, even though rainfall is very rare in the region between May and October. So you can expect the island foliage to be much greener and healthier this year.
